In October 2010, the American Heart Association (AHA) and the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), both members of the International Commitee Liasison or Resuscitation (ILCOR) have defined and published new guidelines for CPR and cardiac care of emergency. The Emergency First Response, always attentive to issues related to the BLS, not long be caught and immediately changed the guidelines of their programs by referring to updates issued by the ERC.
So as with all guidelines, the current changes are the result of detailed research, studies, surveys and publications in the field of emergency cardiac care and are made by eminent experts and doctors.
Current guidelines, which had already undergone a major revision in 2005, now facing small but important corrections which must be identified and implemented immediately.
All those who possess a certification Basic Life Support (BLS) or first aid or Emergency First Response provider or Emergency First Response Instructor are required to know the latest changes and apply them immediately.
